About the project

Yield is a number. The mask is everything around it.

YieldMask.com is an educational static website for comparing income products and strategies that use incompatible rate labels. It does not publish live rankings, accept deposits, manage assets, connect financial accounts, or provide individualized advice.

1

Define the rate

Start with the exact metric—APY, SEC yield, distribution rate, Treasury yield, staking reward, or protocol APY—and preserve its date and assumptions.

2

Map the wrapper

Identify the bank account, fund share, security, stablecoin, tokenized claim, validator position, smart contract, or lending agreement that creates the legal and operational rights.

3

Price the friction

Subtract fees, penalties, spreads, lockups, transfer time, tax context, and administrative work before comparing what remains.

4

Name the risk engine

Yield compensates time, credit, volatility, optionality, leverage, illiquidity, technical risk, or a combination. The source should be visible.

5

Model the exit

Follow the path from asset to spendable cash during normal and stressed conditions. A liquid label is not the same as instant access.

6

Keep uncertainty

Use ranges and scenarios rather than invented precision. Variable rates, distributions, token prices, and protocol incentives can change.

Editorial standard

One authoritative outbound reference per article.

The ten research articles use official or institutional sources as anchors, preserve publication and modification dates, and avoid fabricated performance, testimonials, partnerships, or live-rate claims. Internal links connect each article to the relevant decision framework and calculator.
